Shark Marine is pleased to offer a line of low cost cable handling system. These reels will handle cables for small ROVs, camera systems, sonar equipment as well as many other applications. Options included, power or manual drive, level wind, lifting bar, and an encoder for metering the cable payout. Starting at 23 kgs, these units designed to be light in weight, enabling two men to handle the system easily. A lifting bar is also available for crane lifting. The cable reels manufactured from corrosion resistant materials, built light yet are strong and durable. Our quick change-out system makes it easy to change cables for different applications, or use the same cable with or without the reel.

Contained Cable Reels

Contained Cable Reel

The Contained Cable Reel, designed for easy handling and storage of smaller diameter cables. An all-in-one tethering solution for camera systems, scientific instruments, sonar equipment and many other applications is an easily transportable unit which includes a 1 Hp bidirectional variable speed drive with a maximum speed of 1 m/s, a variable gearing level wind system, slip-ring and a built in encoder with sheave for monitoring the cable payout.

Launch and Recovery System (LARS)

LARS

Tether Management Systems of standard and custom cable reels and winches, with the addition of a complete Launch and Recovery System. The LARS is a mobile, self- erecting A-Frame, designed to launch and recover the Shark Marine Sea Wolf2 and other mid-size ROV’s, sonars and instruments. The systems may be either Hydraulic or Electric-Hydraulic depending on the user’s requirements.

Custom Cable Reels

Custom Cable Reels

Shark Marine Technologies Inc. manufactures custom reels for various applications from side-scan sonar, to drop video systems to ROV’s. Reels are available in numerous configurations from manual wind to electric or hydraulic. Slip rings are also available which make it possible to operate the attached equipment continuously while deploying and retrieving the cable. The level-wind option keeps the cable wrap more efficient and helps preserve the life of the cable. Lifting options allow heavier units to be hoisted on-board by mechanical means.
